Désirée Gonzalo, Ph.D.

Désirée Gonzalo is a chartered clinical psychologist currently working with college populations in Prague. Originally a Neuroscience graduate from Sussex University with a postgraduate and postdoctoral background in brain research from University College London and Hamburg University, respectively. She later obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry (King’s College London). In 2008 Désirée moved to Prague, where she has been working as a private therapist, lecturer, and researcher as well as a college counselor. She has written and contributed to popular articles about mental health and ex-pat communities published in magazines Kazal and Expats.cz. Over the years she has also pursued her personal interests in film, music, social issues, script-writing, poetry, and alternative education.
