Born in 1970 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, studied languages and literature, graduated from the Charles University in Prague in 1996, his thesis was on the poetry of Ivan Jelínek, a Czech exile to Britain.

In 1994 studied sociology of religion, literature, and Italian language at the Università di Firenze, in 1996-1997 worked as a lecturer of Czech and Slovak languages at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, China. Involved in teaching, language coaching, course design, translations and interpreting since his studies.

In 2007 co-wrote and performed in a 20-part radio course of the Italian language, for the Czech Radio 3 (Vltava), in the same year co-authored and recorded a 5-part radio programme on Italian wine, Czech Radio 3.

Presently teaches English (general, business, grammar, ESP), Czech and Slovak to foreigners, and Italian, in a variety of formats. Translates and interprets. An active musician specialising in early music, organises early music workshops and concerts.
